Gift Giving Chaos - Nightcap #5

Chaos, whether it is Santa Clause or Netflix microservices

Finished cleaning in the morning. Watched pieces of Mastering Chaos- A Netflix Guide to Microservices as I was finishing up.

The door painter (mentioned yesterday) was another tenant of my landlord named Blake. Seems like a super nice guy. We had a conversation about cars and dads.

Kept cleaning. Ever since moving in here, we never really “unpacked.” We moved right as the pandemic hit full steam. Crazy times, but if your lease is up, it is up.

I don’t own too much furniture either, so it looks a bit empty. Even with furniture, it does because we don’t have any paintings up. Going to look into getting frames and curtains soon.

People keep asking me what I want for Christmas. I told myself I would only ask for books, but I came up with this idea:

  • A product you love (whether you think I’d like it or not)
  • A recent piece of media that was impactful to you (book, tv, media, etc.)
  • Anything sentimental or just reminds of a time we had together
  • A book from my Public Book List

I’ve already made a working list for all the gifts I have to buy. Obligatory gift-giving is a strange concept- but I do love giving gifts. Especially if I can connect it back to the past or the future. My favorite gifts to give are to:

  • create laughter- funny and, possibly, irrelevant
  • create shared bonds- sentimental/shared experience
  • create/reinforce future progression- helps them learn or reminds them of progress/future
  • create nostalgia- something old that reconnects that person with a past part of themselves

Hey! You know me. Well, maybe not. Either way- I'm Lucas Puskaric! This site captures a small part of the nonsense I get up to. I'm not a vegan, but I do program stuff occasionally. I read books too. Stick around for unique big boy content.
